Modelling Microstrip Antennas in ANSYS HFSS

This video covers the modelling and simulation of a rectangular microstrip antenna in ANSYS High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The intent of is to make sure you understand the principles behind using HFSS. At the end of the presentation you will be able to take an antenna design, model and simulate it in HFSS.

The link below provides a copy of the related project, including the antenna, and an array composed of 64 elements with a corporate feed network.

Radar ELINT with the 89600B VSA Software

The ability to gather Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) on radar signals is a very useful skill in helping to understand their properties, and then design electronic attacks.

This video covers the use of Keysight's 89600B Vector Signal Analysis (VSA) software to gather ELINT on radar signals. At the end of the presentation you will be able to completely characterize a variety of pulsed and continuous wave radar signals. The results can then be used to form pulse descriptor words, or design jamming waveforms.

Communications ELINT with the 89600B VSA Software

The ability to gather Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) on communications is a very useful skill in helping to understand them. This presentation was created with that goal in mind.

This video covers the use of Keysight's 89600B Vector Signal Analysis (VSA) software to gather ELINT on communication signals. At the end of the video you will be able to take a completely characterize an unknown complex communications signal, describe its characteristics, and demodulate it. The result is a bit stream in binary or hex of the received data.

Planar Circuits using ADS Momentum

This video was created as a tutorial on modelling microstrip circuits in an ADS. The focus is on understanding the process of modelling the design in a circuit simulation, taking that circuit to layout, simulating it using momentum, and generating the files for manufacturing.

The design used here is a microstrip stub filter, but the principles are applicable to any planar microwave circuit.

Modelling Radar Scenarios in SystemVue

Radar systems and scenarios can be a pain to model, principally due to the different domains involved, requiring the integration of RF circuits, DSP. antennas, etc. This video demonstrates how to use SystemVue to approach this problem.

The video covers the design, and modelling of a generic search radar with a Swerling II target. The results can are then viewed in SystemVue and the 89600B VSA software, and the radar signal exported for use with an arbitrary waveform generator.
